Mupen64Plus

Mupen64Plus is a Nintendo 64 emulator capable of running tons of video games for this legendary home console. Unlike many other programs of its kind, it has no graphical interface, which means it takes up just under 3 MB on the hard drive. The good thing is that opening any ROM with the emulator is as easy as dragging the .Z64 file to the "mupen64plus-ui-console.exe" executable.

A very easy-to-use emulator

Just because there is no graphical interface doesn't mean that Mupen64Plus isn't an easy emulator to use. For starters, you won't need to download BIOS- the emulator works perfectly without the need for any additional downloads. As already mentioned, all you have to do is drag the ROM to the executable. In just a few seconds, the game will start, and you can start playing. Virtually all official console titles are supported and work perfectly. Keep in mind, however, that some homebrew games may display errors or not work.

Several useful keyboard shortcuts

Mupen64Plus has a few keyboard shortcuts, which you should learn to get the most out of it. F5 and F7 allow you to save and load the game, respectively. With the 0 to 9 keys, you can also choose which slot you want to save it in. The P key, on the other hand, allows you to pause the game at any time. Another very useful key is the F key, which allows you to speed up the game by 250%. This is very useful for certain parts of a game that may be boring. Of course, if you want to exit the emulator, just press the ESC key.
